Volleyball Hangs Tight with No. 13 Flames

Doane Volleyball put up a valiant effort against No. 13 Saint Mary on Wednesday evening but came up shy in their upset bid, falling by scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-20. The Tigers got off to a hot start, taking the first six points of the match. Their Doane blocking game gave the Flames some fits early on before CSM was able to break through.

Jaime Renshaw (SR/Sioux Falls, S.D.) led the Tigers with 11 kills and 13 assists, adding 12 digs to go with her totals. Kirsten Bures (SR/Odell, Neb.) added nine kills. Jordan Bolte (SO/Bruning, Neb.) finished with 11 assists and a team-high 18 digs. Simonie Mendenhall (SR/Clancy, Mont.) finished with six total blocks as the Tigers had 8.0 team blocks.

Doane will play host to Briar Cliff on Saturday, October 15, at 3 PM. Following the match, the Tigers will honor their seniors.
