Doane Volleyball was unable to overcome a slow start on Wednesday evening as Mount Marty came to town and knocked off the Tigers for the first time since 1993. The Lancers hit .224 on the night with 66 kills while Doane was held to a .176 attack percentage with 44 kills.
Simonie Mendenhall (SR/Clancy, Mont.) posted a double-double with 11 kills and 10 total blocks (three solo) to go with two ace serves, all team-highs for the Tigers. Jaime Renshaw (SR/Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished with 33 assists and 18 digs. Kirsten Bures (SR/Odell, Neb.) finished with 10 kills and MacKenzie Painter (SO/Lincoln, Neb.) picked up 15 digs.
Doane finished with 11 team blocks in the match and forced the Lancers into 28 attack errors.
The Tigers will take to the road on Saturday, September 10, when they play at College of Saint Mary.
