CRETE, Neb. – Four members of the Doane women's wrestling program have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's At-Large Academic All-District Team. Angelica Vicente Gonzalez, Bridgette Sotomayor, Cristelle Rodriguez, and Karina Vang earned the honor, recognizing their achievements both in the classroom and on the mat.

The CSC Academic All-District program celebrates student-athletes who excel academically while making significant contributions to their teams during competition. The quartet helped lead the Tigers through another successful season that culminated with strong performances at both the conference and national levels.

Rodriguez put together one of the most dominant seasons in the country. Wrestling primarily at 124 pounds, she finished the year with an undefeated 19-0 record at the weight class while adding another victory at 131 pounds. Of her 20 victories, 17 came by technical fall and three by fall. Rodriguez closed her season in impressive fashion at the NAIA National Championships, defeating nationally ranked opponents from Southern Oregon, William Penn, and Indiana Tech while earning a 10-0 technical fall over second-ranked Rose Kaplan of Indiana Tech.

Vicente Gonzalez competed at both 117 and 124 pounds during the season and posted a combined 17-5 record. She earned victories over nationally ranked opponents from Dickinson State and Texas Wesleyan and advanced through the consolation bracket at the NAIA National Championships with wins by fall, technical fall, and decision to earn NAIA All-American honors. Her season included 12 victories by bonus points, including eight falls.

Sotomayor finished the year with a 19-9 overall record at 145 pounds and was a key contributor throughout the season. She recorded nine victories by fall and four more by technical fall while earning wins over nationally ranked competition. Among her highlights were a championship finish at the GPAC Championships and a pair of early-season Top 15 victories.

Vang combined for a 15-7 record while competing at both 103 and 110 pounds. She recorded nine wins by fall or technical fall and earned victories over nationally ranked opponents from Wayland Baptist, Central Methodist, Southern Oregon, and Waldorf. Vang won the conference championship at 103 and qualified for the NAIA National Championships, where she represented the Tigers on the national stage.
