Women's Wrestling All-GPAC Honors Announced
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2025 women's wrestling all-conference team and 12 wrestlers were recognized. This is the inaugural season of women's wrestling in the GPAC. Doane also swept the three season honors that were announced.
The GPAC Women's Wrestler of the Year was Cristelle Rodriguez. She is the lone conference wrestler to hold down a No. 1 ranking this year, doing so every week at 124. Mora Peterson was named the GPAC Freshman of the Year after winning the 117 bracket at the conference tournament. She was the only freshman champion at the tournament. Julian Gaytan was the GPAC Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to the team championship.
Eight wrestlers were named First Team All-GPAC. Karina Vang was the conference champion at 103 with Jaden Breeden earning it after winning the 110 title. Peterson and Rodriguez received First Team honors by winning their brackets. Ashlee Palimo'o took runner-up honors at 131 while Aevri Ciha was the 145 champion. Aspen Barber won at 160 with Hailey Romero winning the 207 championship.
Lamia Benn took third place at 160 and received Second Team All-GPAC honors along with Yazmin Belk after she placed second at 180. Julia Breeden placed third at 117 and received honorable mention All-GPAC recognition. Also earning honorable mention was Bridgette Sotomayor as she took fourth at 145.
All 12 of Doane's recipients also qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Park City, Kansas, on March 14-15.
