Women's Wrestling Downed by No. 9 Campbellsville

Women's Wrestling closed out the first day of the NWCA NAIA National Duals as they took on No. 9 Campbellsville. The Tigers of Kentucky won eight matches to post a 34-11 win over Doane.

Jaden Breeden put Doane on the board in the second match of the dual at 110 with a 10-0 tech fall win over Gabrielle Medeiros. Doane would add a team point in of the two matches lost by decision. Bridgette Sotomayor lost 5-3 at 138 to NAIA No. 11 Gabriella Perez and Yazmin Belk lost 6-5 at 160 to Sierra Chavez. Hailey Romero received a forfeit win at 207.

Doane will compete for ninth place on Saturday. The Tigers will need two wins to take ninth and will face NAIA No. 5 William Penn in their first match at 9 AM.
