Dutcher Memorial a Success for Women's Track and Field
CRETE, Neb. - Doane women's track and field turned in a strong showing on its home track at the Jim Dutcher Memorial, highlighted by event titles, a relay win and several NAIA qualifying marks during the April 15-16 & 19 meet in Crete.
The Tigers were dominant in the sprints, distance races, field events and throws throughout the weekend. Tania Gleason led a 1-2-3-4 finish for Doane in the 100 meters, winning in 11.80 with an NAIA "B" standard. Neryah Hekl was second in 11.88, RaeAnn Thompson placed third in 12.04 and Morgan Mahoney added a fifth-place finish in 12.53.
Doane also controlled the top of the 200, with Kat Vogt winning in 24.00 and Gleason finishing just behind her in 24.03. Both marks met the NAIA "B" standard. Thompson added a third-place finish in 25.37, while Jayden Meyer placed fourth in 25.63 and Mahoney was sixth in 26.11.
In the middle-distance events, Danie Parriott claimed the 800-meter title in 2:16.07, leading a strong Doane effort that also included Marissa Miles in seventh and Allison Ernst in 10th. Kiley Hejtmanek turned in a third-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 58.73.

In the heptathlon, Chaney Nelson finished runner-up with 4,427 points, while Dayle Haake was fifth and Felicia Deumi Nappi placed sixth for Doane.
