Pribyl Named to CSC Academic All-America Team
The 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Teams have been announced. Doane pole vaulter Kaylee Pribyl has been selected to the NAIA Second Team list.
The list consisted of 21 student-athletes, 12 on the First Team and nine on the Second Team. She was one of two accounting majors to make this year's squad. She is the first Tiger pole vaulter to make the list since Meagan Bauer earned the honor in 2007 and 2008.
Pribyl's sophomore season started out strong, clearing 3.85m (12-07.50) at the Concordia Early Bird Invite to open the indoor season. She settled in at 3.70m (12-01.50) in three of the next five meets as she began to tune up for the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships. At the conference meet, she broke the school record with a clearance of 3.97m (13-00.25).
Heading to the indoor national meet, she was ranked third with her mark after the conference meet. She would hold that standing, as only three women cleared 3.95m (12-11.50). Her next height attempt would be 4.00m, a potential new record. On her first attempt, Pribyl cleared the mark. She would wait and watch as her two opponents missed on their first attempt, then again on their second attempt. On the final attempts at the height, both competitors missed the mark and Pribyl had won her first national title. However, she was not done and cleared her first attempt at 4.05m (13-03.50). She took one attempt at 4.10m, missing the height, before walking off to the awards podium.
Pribyl had a strong outdoor season as well, opening the season with a clearance of 3.95m. She added another GPAC title to her resume, winning with a height of 3.85m. The conference win gives Pribyl her fourth title between indoor and outdoor seasons in as many competitions.
