CRETE, Neb. — The Doane University women's track and field team turned in an impressive all-around showing Saturday at the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic, hosted at Fuhrer Field House, highlighted by multiple event victories, podium finishes, and depth across sprints, middle distance, jumps, and throws.

Doane showcased its sprint strength early in the meet, led by freshman Zaili Benish, who captured first place in the 200 meters with a time of 27.05 seconds. Benish followed with a runner-up finish in the 400 meters (1:00.87), while teammate Kiley Hejtmanek claimed the 400-meter title in 1:00.38.

In the middle distances, the Tigers dominated the 600 meters, sweeping the top four positions. Marissa Miles earned the win with a time of 1:46.70, followed closely by Allison Ernst (1:48.62), Madison Lytle (1:49.44), and Emily Lytle (1:50.49). Doane also placed second in the 4x400 relay, as the quartet of Chaney Nelson, Britta Deden, Marissa Miles, and Madison Lytle crossed the line in 4:22.27.

In hurdle competition, Doane placed three athletes in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles. Chaney Nelson finished fourth overall with a time of 9.51, while Dayle Haake and Felicia Deumi Nappi followed in fifth and sixth, respectively, after advancing through the preliminary rounds.

The Tigers were equally strong in the field events. Katelynn Kratz shared first place in the high jump, clearing 1.66 meters (5-5.25), while Kayley Thompson tied for third at 1.61 meters. In the pole vault, Doane claimed three of the top four spots, led by Kaylee Pribyl, who won the event with a vault of 3.75 meters (12-3.5). Avery Scott placed second (3.65m), and Kennedy Stanley finished third (3.40m).

Doane also made a major impact in the horizontal jumps. Rosalyn Roggasch led the Tigers in the long jump with a third-place finish (5.39m), while Kyla Davis and Addison Fahrnbruch placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Davis added a strong third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.28 meters.

The throwing events were a highlight for Doane, particularly in the shot put, where the Tigers swept the top two positions. Madison Heusinkvelt won the event with a mark of 12.99 meters, narrowly edging teammate Delaney Burge, who recorded 12.96 meters. Paige Bull, Grace Dean, and Payton Cast all placed among the top seven. In the weight throw, Doane again controlled the podium as Mia Knigge earned the victory with a throw of 17.11 meters, followed by Trinity Becher (16.34m) and Kaylie Lotspeich (16.28m).

Doane's depth was on display throughout the meet, with scoring contributions coming from all event groups as the Tigers continued to build momentum early in the indoor season.

The Tigers will return to action next week as they continue preparation toward conference competition. Doane will travel to Seward on Friday, January 23, to compete in the Polar Dog Invite hosted by Concordia.
