Purizaca Named NAIA All-American
CRETE, Neb. — Junior Maria Purizaca continued to cement her place among the nation's top players as the Doane women's tennis standout earned NAIA All-America honors for the third consecutive season, receiving Second Team honors as announced by the NAIA national office.
Purizaca becomes a three-time All-American after earning Second Team recognition in 2024 and Third Team honors in 2025.
The Tiger junior put together one of the most dominant seasons in program history, compiling a 31-2 overall singles record between dual competition and tournament play. She also became the first player in Doane tennis history to complete an undefeated dual season, finishing 20-0 in team competition.
Against some of the NAIA's best competition, Purizaca posted a 6-2 record against fellow 2026 NAIA All-Americans and climbed as high as No. 5 in the ITA Collegiate NAIA singles rankings before closing the year ranked No. 8 nationally.
Across three seasons in Crete, Purizaca has compiled an impressive 92-8 career singles record while establishing herself as one of the most accomplished players in program history.
