Women's Tennis Secures Key GPAC Win at Home

CRETE, Neb. – The Doane women's tennis team edged out a narrow 4-3 victory over College of Saint Mary on Tuesday evening in a tightly contested dual at home.

The match came down to the final singles courts as the Tigers rallied from an early deficit after doubles play.

College of Saint Mary claimed the doubles point, winning at No. 3 and No. 1 doubles. The Flames opened with a 6-3 win over Isabella Castillero and Alejandra Prat at No. 3, and later secured the point with a 7-5 decision at No. 1 over Maria Purizaca and Liz Calderon. Doane's lone doubles victory came at No. 2, where Grace Schroller and Kat Johnson earned a solid 6-3 win.

Doane sealed the match with clutch performances on the back courts. Alejandra Prat secured a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles, and Isabella Castillero delivered the decisive point at No. 5, rallying for a three-set victory (1-6, 6-3, 6-3) to clinch the 4-3 team win.
