CRETE, Neb. – The Doane women's tennis team edged out a narrow 4-3 victory over College of Saint Mary on Tuesday evening in a tightly contested dual at home.

The match came down to the final singles courts as the Tigers rallied from an early deficit after doubles play.

College of Saint Mary claimed the doubles point, winning at No. 3 and No. 1 doubles. The Flames opened with a 6-3 win over Isabella Castillero and Alejandra Prat at No. 3, and later secured the point with a 7-5 decision at No. 1 over Maria Purizaca and Liz Calderon. Doane's lone doubles victory came at No. 2, where Grace Schroller and Kat Johnson earned a solid 6-3 win.

Trailing 1-0, Doane responded in singles with a strong showing at the top of the lineup. Purizaca dominated at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory, while Calderon followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.
