Women's Golf Takes on Division II Powers on Spring Break
MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Competing as the lone NAIA program in a field dominated by NCAA Division II teams, the Doane women's golf team finished ninth at the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Barry University on March 9–10 at Miami Shores Country Club.
The Tigers posted a three-round total of 992 (326-337-329) against a strong field of regional Division II programs. Doane improved its score in the final round, shaving eight strokes off its second-round total to close the tournament.
Host Barry captured the individual title as Leonie Sinnhuber shot an 8-under-par 208 (68-68-72) to lead the field.
Doane was led by Kaitlyn Dumler, who finished tied for 29th overall with a three-round total of 231 (79-80-72). Dumler recorded the Tigers' best round of the event with an even-par 72 in the final round, climbing several spots on the leaderboard.
Connie Jarm added a tie for 34th place after posting 234 (77-77-80) across the three rounds.
Rounding out the Tiger lineup were Laila Saunders, who shot 262 (85-87-90), Jamisyn Kirkpatrick with 265 (85-93-87), and Payton Morgan, who finished at 274 (90-94-90).
The Buccaneer Invitational featured a highly competitive field that included nationally ranked NCAA Division II programs such as Barry, Lynn, Florida Southern, Nova Southeastern, Palm Beach Atlantic, Eckerd, and Arkansas Tech.
