Shooting Sports Squad Takes Seventh at Midland Open

The Shooting Sports team competed at the Midland Open in Lincoln on Saturday and Sunday, finishing in 7th Place with a score of 1315. The team scores were based on the Top 5 individuals rather than the team score from each discipline.

The Tigers posted a score of 476 in skeet and 383 in sporting on Saturday and a 479 in trap on Sunday.

Pacing the Tigers was Cody Eye with a 271 (98 trap/96 skeet/77 sporting) and tied for 41st. Seth Swinea tied for 45th with a 270 (90/95/85). Skylar Clark finished with a 268 (95/93/80) to tie for 53rd overall. Beau Ghyra finished in 105th place with a 256 (93/94/69). Payton Detavernier rounded out the Top 5 for Doane with a 250 (97/98/55) and tied for 125th.

Also competing for Doane, Jaron Brown tied for 138th with a 246 (83/91/72). Sam Arnett posted a 245 (96/87/62) to tie for 142nd. Jess Himmelberg finished with a 231 (82-88-61) to tie for 181st.

In total, 16 teams and 240 competitors were in action during the meet.

Next up for the Tigers is the Hastings Invite on October 7-8 in Grand Island.
