Men's Cross Country Picked Second in GPAC Poll

Men's Cross Country, coming off a Top 20 national championship meet finish, has been picked to finish second in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) this upcoming season. In a tight ballot, the Tigers finished three points behind Dordt for the top spot. Doane received four first place votes while the Defenders received seven.

Returning for the Tigers this year will be five of their top six runners who placed in the Top 15 of last year's GPAC Championships. Emmanuel Yego (Sr.), Michael Grigsby (Sr.), Porter Bickley (So.), Nelson Ruto (Sr.), and Jayden Wall (So.) all return, giving the Tigers plenty of experience as they look to win their first championship since 1989.

Dordt returns three of their top five runners from last year's championship team that out-paced the Tigers by four team points. Concordia, which was picked third, is scheduled to have the top two finishers of the conference meet back to build around.

The remainder of the preseason poll went as follows: 4. Northwestern, 5. Mount Marty, 6. Midland, 7. Hastings, 8. Morningside, 9. Briar Cliff, 10. Dakota Wesleyan, and 11. Waldorf.
