All-GPAC Honors Announced for Cross Country

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the 2024 cross country all-conference honors. Six men's runners and two women's runners from the Doane squads were announced for their accomplishments at this year's championship meet.

Runners placing in the Top 15 of the conference meet receive All-GPAC recognition. The Doane men had a school-record six athletes earn honors, topping the previous mark of four, hit on a couple of occasions.

Emmanuel Yego placed fourth in the meet with a time of 25:59.9 and Thomas Oliver was fifth with a time of 26:04.7. Michael Grigsby finished 11th in a time of 26:31.2, followed by Porter Bickley in 12th with a time of 26:37.8, and Nelson Ruto in 13th with a time of 26:39.9. Jayden Wall placed 15th with a time of 26:41.5.

For the women, they had two runners receive All-GPAC honors, most since 2021. Calla Wittland placed 7th with a time of 23:35.9 and Danie Parriott took 8th place in a time of 23:37.8.

The Tiger men finished second in the GPAC Championships and will compete at the NAIA Championships on Friday, November 22, in Columbia, Missouri. Wittland and Parriott will represent the Tiger women in the championship meet.
