Men's Cross Country Takes Second; Six Earn All-GPAC
Men's Cross Country returned to Mahoney State Park on Saturday to compete in the GPAC Championships, two weeks after co-hosting the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic. The Tigers put forth a great effort with all 10 runners finishing in the Top 35 as they took second place behind NAIA No. 12 Dordt. The Defenders finished with 41 points while the Tigers finished with 45 points.
Six Tigers earned All-GPAC honors by finishing in the Top 15 of the race. In total, 90 runners finished the race.
Doane was led by Emmanuel Yego with a fourth place finish. He ran a time of 25:59.9. Thomas Oliver took fifth place with a time of 26:04.7. Michael Grigsby (26:31.2), Porter Bickley (26:37.8), and Nelson Ruto (26:39.9) followed by placing 11th, 12th, and 13th, respectively.
Jayden Wall crossed the finish line in 15th place with a time of 26:41.5. Jakob Tadlock ran a time of 27:03.3 to place 18th. Luke Bonifas crossed in 27:22.2 and took 23rd. Duncan Blankenship finished 30th with a time of 27:48.9 and Will Dawes was 33rd with a time of 28:03.2.
Doane will now await the announcement of the NAIA national qualifying bids on November 12.
