Men's Wrestling Wins Third Straight GPAC Title

CRETE, Neb. — The Doane Tigers delivered a dominant performance Saturday to close out the GPAC Duals at the Haddix Center, rolling to a 41–8 victory over the Morningside Mustangs to officially secure the Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season championship.

With the win, Doane claimed its third consecutive GPAC regular season title, fifth in the last six seasons, and continued an extraordinary run of conference success—winning 47 of its last 48 GPAC duals.

The Tigers set the tone immediately, winning the first three bouts and jumping out to a 15–0 lead. Top-ranked Ray Ray Harris opened the dual with a quick fall at 125 pounds, followed by another pin from Matthew Terrence at 133. Tristen Brown capped the opening surge with an 11–5 decision at 141.

After Morningside earned its first points with a fall at 149, Doane answered emphatically. Ben Miller needed just 48 seconds to record a pin at 157, while Jake Prudek followed with a fall at 174 to stretch the advantage. At 184, top-ranked Tyson Beauperthuy delivered a statement win with a technical fall, pushing the team score to 32–9.

Doane closed the dual in style, as Jaren Jackson pinned his opponent at 197 before Eli Criblez sealed the night with a 5–1 decision at heavyweight. A Morningside conduct penalty provided the final margin in the 41–8 result.

The Tigers will carry momentum from the regular season crown into the postseason as they set their sights on the GPAC Championships and the NAIA national tournament.
