Three Tigers Compete in NAIA Marathon
DALLAS, Texas - The NAIA Marathon was held on Sunday as part of the BMW Dallas Marathon with three Tigers participating. The women's race featured 50 runners and the men's race had 51 runners.
For the women, Katelyn Iwata ran in her first NAIA Marathon and placed 40th with a time of 3:42.28 (chip time). She posted a mile pace of 8:29 with her midway point of 13.1-mile time of 1:43:59.
On the men's side, Alvin Keter and Jakob Tadlock competed. The race was the first for Keter as a Tiger while Tadlock had participated the previous two years when the event was held in California.
Keter placed 10th with a time of 2:33:13 (chip time). He had a pace time of 5:51 per mile and hit the midway point at a time of 1:16:01. Tadlock did not finish the race. He had a time of 1:28:06 at the midway point.
