SALINA, Kan. — The Doane University men's tennis team faced a tough road test on Sunday, falling 7-0 to Bethel (Kan.) in nonconference action.

Bethel secured the early momentum by sweeping all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. The Tiger duo of Mats Vervloet and Jaime Asiain Banzo dropped a 6-2 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Diego Infante and Elliot Dassel fell 6-1 at No. 2. Andre Hartman and Miles Mollring rounded out doubles play with a 6-2 setback at the No. 3 position.

In singles competition, Doane battled throughout the lineup but was unable to secure a point. Infante delivered the most competitive match of the afternoon at No. 2 singles, pushing Petr Kollar to a super tiebreak before falling in a tightly contested 6-3, 5-7, 10-6 decision. Vervloet competed at the top spot for the Tigers, dropping a 6-1, 6-4 match to Jorge Batista.
