Men's Golf Places Fifth at GPAC Championships

DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. — The Doane men's golf team closed out play at the 2026 GPAC Men's Golf Championship with a fifth-place finish, posting a three-round total of 926 (312-312-302) at Dakota Dunes Country Club.

The Tigers saved their best for last, firing a tournament-low 302 in the final round to move up one spot in the standings. Doane finished behind conference champion Hastings (886), followed by Morningside (899), Northwestern (Iowa) (905), and Dordt (913).

Josh Wassmer paced the Tigers with a top-10 individual finish, tying for seventh overall at 227 (76-78-73). Wassmer delivered consistent play across all three rounds, including a strong closing 73.

Heidar Bjarnason turned in a solid tournament as well, finishing tied for 16th with a 230 (78-77-75), while Jax Loh placed 20th overall at 231 (79-76-76). Cauy Walters rounded out Doane's scoring group, tying for 39th with a 244 (79-85-80).

Ben Kottmeyer competed in the opening rounds for the Tigers, posting scores of 79-81, while Carson Kildow played the final round, shooting a 78.
