Walters Named GPAC Golfer of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Doane Men's Golf senior Cauy Walters has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Golfer of the Week after his performance at the Nebraska Intercollegiate meet last week in Fremont. Walters posted a pair of tournament records at the meet.

After shooting an opening round of 73, he followed with a six-under par round of 65 to set a single-round record for the tournament. His final score of 138 tied for first overall and was a 36-hole record for the tournament. Walters dropped the tie-break on the second hole of a playoff to take medalist runner-up honors.

On the season, Walters has played in five tournaments covering 12 rounds. He has posted an average of 73.58 per 18 holes.

Doane has completed their fall slate of tournaments and will return to action in March 2026. The GPAC Championships will be held in April.
