Men's Golf Places Fourth at Siouxland Invite

ORANGE CITY, Iowa - The Doane men's golf team participated in the Siouxland Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The first two rounds were held at The Ridge GC in Sioux Center while the final round was held at Landsmeer GC in Orange City.

Doane took two teams with the "A" team placing fourth overall with an 887 (304-299-284). The team shot an even-par round on the final day. The "B" team placed eighth with a 905 (321-297-287).

Joshua Wassmer led the "A" squad with a tie for seventh place and a score of 219 (75-78-66). He tied for first in the tournament, playing the Par 5 holes at nine-under par. Cauy Walters placed in a tie for 14th with a 222 (76-77-69). Jax Loh shot a 223 (76-73-74) and tied for 17th. Toby Knevett tied for 20th with a 224 (78-71-75). Matt McConkey rounded out the team with a 233 (77-78-78) and tied for 47th.

As a team, the "A" squad led the field in Par 4 scoring at 39-over par, recording an average score of 4.31 on the holes. The team finished second in eagles recorded (3) and pars (142).

The "B" squad was led by Embree Stutsman with a 220 (78-72-70) as he placed 10th. Ben Kottmeyer tied for 11th with a 221 (79-70-72) and was tied for the tournament lead with two eagles recorded. Jarett Moriarity tied for 32nd with a 227 (80-76-71). Brock Heusinkvelt shot a 244 (84-86-74) and tied for 69th with Brock Olivo (87-79-78).

Next up for Doane will be a trip to Silvis, Illinois, for the NAIA Preview Invitational held at TPC Deere Run.
