Five Selected to CSC Academic All-District for Football

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams for football have been announced for 2023 and Doane placed five players on this year's list. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 grade point average and meet the participation requirements set for the sport.

This year's honorees for the Tigers all come from the defensive side of the ball: Luke Collison, Ty Martinsen, Marcus Randazzo, Jackson Seward, and Reece Zutavern.

Collison posted 13 tackles, seven solo, for the Tigers this year in 10 games. Martinsen finished with 62 tackles, 34 solo, in 10 games while earning honorable mention All-GPAC honors as well as the NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week honor in the final game of the season. Randazzo posted 27 tackles, 16 solo, in 10 games. Seward collected 32 tackles, 21 solo, in 11 games while Zutavern finished with 36 tackles, 17 solo, in 11 games. Seward and Zutavern tied for team-high honors with two fumble recoveries apiece.
