Doane Soccer hit the road on Wednesday to take on Concordia University in Seward. The men's squad dropped a one-goal decision, 2-1, to the Bulldogs while the women fell 3-0 in their game.


Men's Recap

  • Concordia scored both of their goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead at the half.
  • Doane cut the lead in the half as Daniel Maganda (SR/Schuyler, Neb.) scored his sixth goal of the season off a pass of Sergei Farnsworth (FR/San Antonio, Texas) in the 60th minute.
  • Concordia held a 19-8 shot advantage in the game, though the second half was much closer, 9-7.
  • Nishesh Yadav (SO/Las Vegas, Nev.) recorded nine saves in goal for the Tigers.
  • Maganda led the Tigers with three shots on-goal.

Women's Recap

  • Concordia scored three goals in the first half only to have the Tigers shut them out in the second half.
  • The Bulldogs out-shot the Tigers, 27-2, in the game and 16-2 in shots on-goal.
  • Hannah Carlstedt (SO/Sterling, Colo.) recorded eight saves in the second half and 13 for the game.
  • Bailey Sloup (FR/Columbus, Neb.) recorded both shot attempts for the Tigers, both in the second half.

  • Doane will host Johnson and Wales (Colo.) on the upcoming weekend. The men's squad will face the Wildcats on Friday at 3:15 PM following a women's neutral site meeting between JWU and Lincoln Christian (Ill.) at 1 PM. The Doane women will face JWU on Saturday at 5 PM.
