Men's Soccer - Sat, Oct. 7, 2017

Doane Men's Soccer found the win column on Saturday night to cap off Homecoming. The win was Doane's first in conference play this season.

  • The teams battled through a scoreless first half. Dordt held a 4-3 shots advantage though Doane actually had more shots on-goal.
  • In the second half, the teams remained scoreless until the 69th minute. Daniel Maganda (SR/Schuyler, Neb.) broke the scoreless match as he took a pass from Joseph Larkin (JR/Lawrence, Kan.) and found the back of the net.
  • In the 71st minute, Maganda dribbled the ball towards the end line and then centered a pass to an open Brady Fister (JR/Norfolk, Neb.). He chipped the ball over the keeper for a 2-0 lead.
  • Dordt cranked up the offensive pressure as they pushed to try and find the goal. They out-shot the Tigers 11-6 in the second half, however, only one shot made it on-goal.
  • Nishesh Yadav (SO/Las Vegas, Nev.) saved both Defender shots on-goal as he picked up his first shutout win in net this season.
  • Doane had a 7-2 shots on-goal advantage for the game.

Next Time on the Pitch

  • Doane will head on the road to Seward on October 11 to take on Concordia at 8 PM. It will be their fourth road game out of six conference matches so far this season.
