Women's Soccer picked up their first win of the season with a dominant performance over Manhattan Christian College, 11-0. The Tigers, 1-4-1, scored four goals in the opening half before adding seven in the second half.

  • Nine different players accounted for the goals, including six goals from non-starters.
  • Cassidy Kepler (SR/Omaha, Neb.) and Dani Schreiber (FR/Eagle, Neb.) scored two goals apiece for the Tigers.
  • The scoring started in the 10th minute of play as Cali McEntee (SO/Fremont, Neb.) picked up a deflected ball by MCC and scored one-on-one with the keeper.
  • Kelsey Bernhardt (SR/Thornton, Colo.) and Skyler Evans connected on the next two goals as Evans set up Bernhardt in the 14th minute and Bernhardt set up Evans in the 26th minute.
  • Kepler scored her first goal in the 44th minute off an assist from Jordyn Knipp (SO/Kansas City, Mo.).
  • Doane's first goal of the second half was a penalty kick scored by Paige Dunn (SR/Blair, Neb.) in the 58th minute.
  • Makayla Kalama (FR/Oceanside, Calif.) scored off a corner kick by Bailey Sloup (FR/Columbus, Neb.) in the 60th minute.
  • Kepler scored in the 65th minute off a cross by Schreiber.
  • The 8th goal came from Sloup as she sliced through the defense and picked up a rebound goal in the 68th minute.
  • Schreiber scored the 9th and 11th goals off of assists from Nina Theiler (JR/Omaha, Neb.).
  • Karee Hustedde (SO/Gardner, Kan.) scored the 10th goal off a give-and-go with Madison Stevens (SO/Warrenton, Mo.).
  • Hannah Carlstedt (SO/Sterling, Colo.) collected three saves in goal as she picked up the shutout victory.
  • Doane out-shot Manhattan Christian, 47-3, in the game including 27-3 in shots on goal.

Doane will play in Omaha on Saturday, September 16, as they take on Grace University at Norris Middle School. The game is set for a 2 PM start.
