On the final day of the Bellevue Labor Day Classic, the Tiger Volleyball team played their lone match of the day at 9 AM against Evangel (Mo.). The Tigers made quick work of the Crusaders, winning in straight sets to improve to 8-3 on the year.

  • Game scores were 25-11, 25-10 and 25-16 in Doane's favor.
  • The Tigers dominated throughout the match, hitting .316 as a team compared to negative-.021 for Evangel. Doane had 42 kills to 12 errors while the Crusaders finished with 18 kills and 20 errors.
  • Madison VanHousen (FR/Hampton, Neb.) led all attackers with 12 kills in the match. Allison Kuenle (SO/North Platte, Neb.) and Maci Coffey (SR/Blue Hill, Neb.) finished with nine kills apiece.
  • Alex Neff (SO/North Platte, Neb.) dished out 38 assists in the match.
  • Doane totaled six ace serves, three from Coffey and two from Neff.
  • Erin Warren (JR/Papillion, Neb.) picked up a match-high 13 digs for Doane.
  • The Tigers posted 7.0 team blocks, led by Allison Skala (FR/North Platte, Neb.) with four assist blocks. Alexis Dale (SO/Ravenna, Neb.) and VanHousen each collected three assist blocks.

Road to 1,000

  • The magic number was reduced to 6 for the Tigers as they look to earn the 1,000th win in program history this year. Doane is currently 14th all-time in total wins for NAIA programs and seeking to become the first NAIA Nebraska program to reach 1,000 all-time wins.

Next Serve

  • Doane will open conference play on September 6 with a trip to Hastings to take on the top-ranked Broncos at 7:30 PM.
