Doane University Track and Field resumed action on Friday at the NAIA Track and Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The day had a slower pace in regards to the number of competitors compared to yesterday but the Tigers made sure to turn it up a notch when they competed.

The Doane men picked up their first points of the meet in a pair of field events. Zach Brittain (JR/Grand Island, Neb.) earned All-American honors with a third place finish in the discus. On his final throw, he uncorked a personal-best mark of 172-11.75 (52.72m). Ben Berreckman (JR/Holdrege, Neb.) placed 23rd for the Tigers with a throw of 148-06.25 (45.26m).

Dakarai Hightower (JR/Tacoma, Wash.) earned All-American honors for the Tigers with a fourth place finish in the high jump. He cleared 6-09.00 (2.06m) before his day came to a close. Austin Becker (SO/Norfolk, Neb.) placed 11th for the Tigers in the event with a height of 6-06.00 (1.98m).

Alan Varela (SO/Oxford, Neb.) was the only Tiger to run on the track to day for the men. In the 800m run, he posted a time of 1:53.44 and placed 13th. Levi Sudbeck (FR/Hadar, Neb.) closed out his day in the decathlon. In the ninth event, the javelin, he was unable to hit a good throw in three attempts and did not score. He did not place in the meet as he withdrew from the 1500m run.

Rachel Bramhall (SR/Papillion, Neb. ) highlighted the day for the women's team. She qualified for the finals in the 100m hurdles on Saturday by posting a school record time of 14.11 in the prelims. Bramhall will look to earn All-American honors in both hurdles races on Saturday, the 100m and 400m hurdles.

The women's 4x400m relay team placed 12th as they posted a season-best time of 3:52.90. Running for the Tigers were Kylie Gokie (SR/Lincoln, Neb.), Bramhall, Emily Harsin (JR/Syracuse, Neb.) and Kalyn Brannagan (SR/Shelton, Neb.).

In the women's shot put, Kate Grint (FR/Ord, Neb.) placed 24th for the Tigers. Her best toss on the day was 41-09.25 (12.73m).

On Championship Saturday, the Tigers will send 15 athletes into competition. The following will compete:

2:00 PM - Women's High Jump - Shay Brown (SO/Roca, Neb.), Alexis Dale (FR/Ravenna, Neb.), Claire Sintek (SO/Norfolk, Neb.)

2:00 PM - Women's Discus - Grint

3:20 PM - Women's 100m Hurdles - Bramhall

4:10 PM - Women's 400m Hurdles - Bramhall, Brannagan
