Doane's Shooting Sports Team had their final tune-up before nationals competition over the weekend and placed 7th at the Midland Ice-Out Shoot held at Lincoln Trap and Skeet.


Competition Highlights

  • Doane was 7th out of 12 teams with 1,581 points. Midland won the competition with 1,842 points.
  • Austin Scrogin (FR/Corning, Ark.) was the Tiger's top finisher with 327 points. His top event was in trap where he broke 95 of 100 targets.
  • Ben Dietz (FR/New Prague, Minn.) was second on the team with 324 points, also breaking 95 targets in trap.
  • Mason Buzzard (FR/Trenton, Ill.) posted a score of 323 and broke 96 targets in trap and 93 in skeet.
  • Jared Crouse (FR/Haigler, Neb.) notched a 305, breaking 84 targets in skeet.
  • Katie Petersen (FR/Omaha, Neb.) rounded out the top 5 scorers with a 302, breaking 94 targets in trap.
  • Morgan Psyk (FR/Albertville, Minn.) posted a 251, breaking 84 targets in trap and 82 in skeet.
  • Cole Bodfield (JR/Crete, Neb.) competed in his first meet and broke 233 targets.

On Deck for the Tigers

  • Doane will compete at the ACUI National Championships from March 28-April 2 in San Antonio, Texas, at the National Gun Club.
