Doane Cheer and Dance competed twice on Saturday in Hastings, first in the GPAC Championships followed by a dual with Hastings.


GPAC Highlights

  • Both teams placed sixth at this year's GPAC Championships. The cheer team recorded a score of 58.42 while the Dance team had a score of 59.63, both on 100-point scales.
  • The cheer team saw their strongest scores come from Jumps, Choreography and Showmanship/General Impression.
  • The dance team was strongest in Staging Transitions, Uniformity and Choreography.

Hastings Dual Highlights

  • The cheer team defeated Hastings, 61.5 to 57.85.
  • The dance team lost to Hastings, 76.85 to 58.2.
  • The cheer team saw their biggest improvement in Overall Execution compared to the GPAC Championship while remaining strong in the Jumps and Showmanship/General Impression.
  • The dance team remained consistent in their scoring from the GPAC meet with Staging Transitions, Uniformity and Choreography leading the way for their top point categories.

Up Next for the Tigers

  • Doane will travel to Baldwin City, Kansas, for the NAIA North Qualifier on February 24.
