Men's Basketball took on No. 24 Briar Cliff on Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa. The Tigers out-shot the Chargers but turnovers and BCU 3-point shooting was the difference in the game as Doane fell 83-74. The Tigers are now 12-9 on the season and 3-6 in the GPAC while BCU moved to 15-6 and 6-4, respectively.


Game Highlights

  • With the game tied, 7-7, in the 1st half, BCU went on a 22-11 run over nine minutes to take a 29-18 lead with seven minutes left in the half.
  • The Chargers largest lead in the 1st half was 15 points, 39-24, but the Tigers closed the half on an 8-0 run and trailed 39-32 at the break.
  • Doane largest deficit in the second half was 16 points, 57-41, but Doane battled back with a 14-2 run and pulled within four points, 59-55. The Chargers answered the run with back-to-back 3-point baskets, two of 15 in the game.
  • The Tigers were able to draw within six points with a minute left but the Chargers hit 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch to hold the lead.
  • Nate Kuhl (SR/Tecumseh, Neb.) led the Tigers with a game-high 24 points and Rylee Zimmerman (JR/Beatrice, Neb.) finished with 23 points. Reid Williams (SR/Lincoln, Neb.) added 10 points.
  • Zimmerman led the Tigers with a game-high seven rebounds with three steals while Kuhl posted four assists.
  • Doane shot 52-percent for the game while BCU hit on 46-percent of their attempts. The Chargers had 10 more 3-point baskets and committed seven fewer turnovers in the game.
  • BCU had three players with 20+ points in the game.
