The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced the 2013 Preseason Women's Soccer Coaches' Poll on Monday.  Each coach votes the order they believe teams will finish within the conference, excluding their own team.

The Tigers were chosen to finish 2nd after going 14-6 a year ago and winning the GPAC Tournament in Hastings.  The Tigers lost five starters from the 2012 squad but return four of the five top offensive scorers.

Sara Cushing was the GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year after posting 22 goals and five assists.  Courtney Richards returns from a knee injury that occurred midway through the season.  She had 12 goals prior to the injury.

Morgan Karloff posted seven assists out of her midfield position and Mia Juarez added six goals and seven assists in a reserve role.  In goal returns Kelsey Stark and she is challenging the all-time record for wins by a goal-keeper at Doane.  In 2012, she picked up 14 wins, the most in a single-season by a keeper.

Coach Jeff Voigt begins his second year and will be looking for players to set up following the loss of seven players to graduation.  The area of concern heading into the fall camp will be defensively in the midfield and on the back line.

The Tigers open the season on August 24 at Benedictine College.  The home opener is September 6 against York College.
